[Korea] Daegu City Offers a Chance to See More for Less

Participants in the recently launched Daegu Bus Tour have been enjoying sightseeing diverse attractions in the host city of the IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011, all in one day. What is more, the tour costs only 9,900 won.

The daily bus tour departs from Seoul, and goes on three distinct routes throughout Daegu. The first of the three routes is the Alley Tour, which consists of such cultural heritage sites as Cheongraeondeok Hill (famous for Daegu’s Montmartre),
Daegu Gyesandong Catholic Church, the Lee Sang-Hwa Residence, the Seo Sang-Dong Residence, Jeil Church, and Daegu Yangyeongsi Oriental Medicinal Cultural Center in the herbal medicinal market. The next is Seomun Market, where visitors eat lunch while exploring Daegu’s representative traditional market. Finally, the tour bus stops at the Geumho Lake waterfront near the IAAF Daegu 2011 Stadium for winding down with a bowl of makgeolli (Korean traditional rice wine) and a variety of exhibitions and performances, before returning to Seoul.

In September, the bus tour will operate on the 3rd and the 4th. The tour can accommodate up to 30 people each day, on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is available online, and payment for the tour must be done via wire transfer.
