Ansan 안산

Since some vegetables and foods are not available in our town here, last week we decided to go to Ansan, where many southeast people including Cambodian people lives and those things are sold. Though Ansan is really close to our town here, it was really a tired journey because there has no direct train line from our town to there. Thus, we had to take another line which took us about 2 hours to our destination. We really had a nice shopping there because we could find many things we wanted for long time, however. We also had a chance to eat ពងទាកូន and សម្លតុងយាំ which were sold by Vietnamese and Thai Restaurants there. Really delicious! Gonna go again when we are free. Here are some photos...

Khmer Restaurant in Korea

Nowadays, there is one Khmer restaurant which first existed about one month ago. It's located in Ansan, a place I already posted in the blog a long time ago. The restaurant's name is ខែ្មររីករាយ. The owner of the restaurant is Korean but the cheif is Cambodian who was brought from Cambodia. There are many kinds of Khmer foods served there and of course the foods are very delicious. I just went there last Saturday with my friends to have a nice dinner over there. Here are some photos I took on that day :

ACIS 2012

In the globalized, knowledge-based society, information systems and their underlying technologies are playing increasingly important roles. In Asia, where developed and fast-developing countries are both located cooperatively and collaboratively, more advances and developments in Information and Communication Technology are the key factors for the successful future.
The First Asian Conference on Information Systems, ACIS 2012, following the successes of four Japan-China Joint Symposia of Information Systems (JCIS 2008-2011) and the Japan-Cambodia Joint Symposium of Information Systems and Communication Technology (JCAICT 2011), is the unique, premier meeting of researchers, professionals and practitioners to discuss various current issues in information systems and related areas with a special focus on the current conditions and the future sustainable developments of Asian countries. ACIS 2012 will provide keynote sessions, concurrent oral sessions, poster sessions, and more, to exchange ideas, discuss best practices, raise awareness, and share experiences for deepening mutual understanding and friendship among researchers, professionals and practitioners.
ACIS 2012 is to be held in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Siem Reap is famous for the ruins of the ancient city of Angkor, capital of the Khmer kingdom from A.D. 802 until A.D. 1295, which are one of the world’s greatest marvels. We cordially invite submissions of high quality papers describing fully developed results and on-going work.

Formatted Hard Disk

Phew ! I have just finished formatting my hard disk ! The purpose of formatting my hard disk this time was to create partitions on my disk. Actually, I really wanted to format it a long time ago, but because I didn't have an external hard disk for temporarily keeping the huge amount of my data of which most are photos and musics, I couldn't do it until I pocess an external hard disk I bought yesterday. It took me about 3 hours to finish everything. Now everything is ok as usual but there are still many software to be installed into my PC. Gonna reprepare all of my softwares and datas tomorrow. now sleepy.

Tonight

Finally, the time that I have been waiting for about 2 months is coming soon. It's tonight. I think I will enjoy so much tonight, tomorrow and days after. There aren't any parties nor special ceremonies tonight. It's just a simple night of course but special to me. Can't wait for tonight, tomorrow and days after ! :D

បបរពោត

បបរពោត? You guys actually know this kind of dessert and some of you probably like it so much. To me, it is not the most favorite dessert of course but it doesn't mean that I hate it.

After coming here, I never expected that I could have a chance to eat Khmer desserts since there aren't any Khmer restaurants serving those kinds of desserts and ingredients here are not as much as those in Cambodia to make such desserts. But, so far there have been still some Khmer dessert which can be made such as បបរសណែ្តក បបរចាដូវ និង បបរពោត here. Among those, បបរពោត is often made and eaten nowadays since there are any number of corns available in the market. ដល់ទៅញុំាច្រើនពេកទៅ មានអារម្មណ៏ថា ធុំម៉េចមិនដឹងទេ។ :D

Here's why you should volunteer:

  • It is an opportunity to work with other students, other teachers, and a number of international guests
  • You will receive an official Certificate of Completion and Appreciation
  • It is an opportunity to learn guest service skills, and learn real world skills at a major international event
  • It is an opportunity to spend an amazing time with lots of interesting people.
Requirements:
  1. Complete the application form in English by 1st October 2011.
  2. You must provide your own transportation to the conference and your own housing accommodations during the event.
  3. You must attend a training session 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8th, 2011, unless you have spoken with and been excused by the Student Volunteer Coordinators (Mike Peacock and Rodney Stubbs).

  5. In order to receive an official Certificate of Completion and Appreciation, you must complete a minimum of two (2) work shifts (Saturday or Sunday) PLUS either the setup shift on Friday night or teardown shift on Sunday evening.
Your application will be judged on several things, not just English ability. We are looking for volunteers with good "people skills" who can respond quickly in unexpected situations. We are also looking for people who can devote all or most of their time during the weekend. Being available to work four shifts is more valuable to us that working only one shift.

LOVING EMBRACE KOREA

Nice Idea, Nice Design ! Really love it ! New background for Loving Embrace, KOREA ! :)

Another evening in Songdo

It's a very amazing city. There are a lot of skyscrapers there. Here are some description of Songdo.

Northeast Asia, anchored by Japan, China, and Korea, is home to three of the largest economies in the world, all with dynamic business environments. Throughout history, geographic convenience led to international business being transacted primarily through Southern Asia within relatively close proximity to the hubs of Hong Kong and Singapore. The explosion of economic and business growth experienced by Northeast Asia in the last decade has led to the need for another, northern Asian hub.
Songdo International Business District (IBD) officially opened on August 7, 2009 as a designated Free Economic Zone and the first new sustainable city in the world designed to be an international business district. With its strategic location just 15 minutes driving time from Incheon International Airport and 3 ½ hours flying time to 1/3 of the world's population and regional markets such as China, Russia and Japan, Songdo IBD will position South Korea as the commercial epicenter of Northeast Asia.
Songdo IBD is an international city that offers every conceivable amenity, attracting multinational and domestic corporations to this new location. These include all the advantages of a master planned environment with 600 acres of open space and parks, an advanced technology infrastructure, the architecturally-stunning Convensia Convention Center, fine hotels, international schools, museums, a luxury retail mall, and the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea. By employing the best practices of urban planning and sustainable design, Songdo IBD offers residents, workers and visitors an unparalleled quality of life.

  • Kim Hyun Joong received a Kiss !

SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong received a kiss from a child fan during his fan meet in the Philippines.
While Kim Hyun Joong was signing autographs for fans, a little girl stood in front of him and danced to ‘KISS KISS‘.
Pleased, Kim Hyun Joong smiled brightly and leaned over to shake the girl’s hand. However, when Kim Hyun Joong leaned over, the little girl gave him a kiss on the cheek. Kim Hyun Joong kept smiling, drawing out the envy of every girl fan.
Netizens stated, “Kim Hyun Joong is so cute”, “How can you be jealous of a little girl”, “To all of those who screamed at the kiss, I feel the same”, and “Kim Hyun Joong seems like a dad who falls stupid for his daughter."

    Sooyoung injured in car accident

Sooyoung has been hospitalised after a car accident that occurred Sunday morning as she was on her way to a volunteer service event for the visually impaired in Chun An.
Reportedly, the accident was caused due to the negligence of a driver in the opposite lane, whose vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with Sooyoung’s, leaving her with injuries to her lower back area.
    SM stated
“Sooyoung is suffering from a sacrovertebral fracture from the car accident, but thankfully, the injury is nothing serious
Sooyoung’s doctor added that with treatment and rest, she will be fully recovered in no time but has to suspend all immediate activities to recuperate. She will thus not be able to attend the upcoming ‘SM TOWN – Tokyo’ and SNSD’s concert in Taiwan.
With SNSD’s anticipated Korean comeback round the corner, this may lead to a possible delay in promotions. However, waiting a little longer for SNSD’s comeback is nothing as Sooyoung’s health much more important.
SM Entertainment released a new statement:
““She (Sooyoung) will not be attending the 2 concerts scheduled, but SNSD’s Korean comeback will be not affected. Because their comeback date has not been confirmed, we will ensure that the treatment to her injury is fully completed by then”.
Fortunately SNSD’s comeback date was not yet confirmed allowing some flexibility to accomodate Sooyoung’s injuries.

Today I starts my new fall semester. I am very happy for this starting but quite sad since I need more vacation. I still have many things to do. Today I got 3 classes for 6 hours but fortunately all professors have yet to start teaching us for the very first class. :) I registered a lot of classes during this semester including the swimming class. Hope everything goes well for this semester. :)

    A season of tangerine !

" Winter, the season of tangerine " is a pharse said by many Korean people. Nowadays tangerine can be found everywhere here since it is winter season, and the price is also low. That is why tangerine is so popular with people including me these days.

In fact, in each season here there is one kind of fruit which respresents those seasons. And those fruits are available everywhere and they are cheap when their season comes.

    Spring - Strawberry
    Summer - Watermelon
    Fall - Apple
    Winter - Tangerine
